Fiji Ministry of Education, Heritage and Arts: National Policy on Open Educational Resources

The purpose of this policy is to provide direction in the use of open educational resources (hereinafter referred to as OER) to increase access to and support quality learning and teaching in Fiji’s education and training system. In doing so, the policy seeks to strengthen commitment to OER by all concerned including the Government.

Student Practices in Copyright Culture: Accessing Learning Resources

Using Schatzki’s practices framework as a lens, this paper reports on the practices of university students accessing learning resources at a research-intensive  university in South Africa. Using a mixed methods approach, 1001 survey responses and six focus groups were analysed to explore how students in three professional disciplines access learning resources, with the focus on digitally-mediated piracy practices. The findings suggest a blurring between the legal and the illegal and indicate the normalcy of piracy practices, with nuanced distinctions and understandings manifest.

Introduction to Christian Ethics (UCC204)

The unit provides an introduction to Christian ethics and is a one trimester, university common course. It is part of the core curricular of the university. It is a two credit hour course, covered within 28 hours of the university’s trimester calendar. The course is taken by all undergraduate students in all programmes offered at Africa Nazarene University. Students taking the class need to think about ethical issues encountered in their careers. The unit will provide you with principles needed in making moral decisions from a Christian perspective.

Utilising Open Educational Resources (OER) in Support of Curriculum Transformation at Africa Nazarene University

Africa Nazarene University: Policy on OER Integration Into ODeL and Campus-based Provision

The purpose of this OER Policy is to:
  • guide the development and review of OER materials prior to sharing them on a worldwide scale
  • clarify publication rights and licensing issues
  • outline policies regarding the use of required infrastructure (information technology, library, etc.) and other support services
  • identify human and other resources to support faculty in developing OER for teaching and learning
  • define collaborations within and external to the university and the intent to allow access.

Assessment for Learning: Using Learners' Test Data for Professional Development.

This five unit course is intended for mathematics teachers who work / teach in primary schools. The approach taken in the course can also be used in secondary school mathematics teaching but the mathematics content in the course activities is for grades 3 to 7.
