We
have learned that the basic challenge for sustainable agriculture is to make
better use of local internal resources. The location-specific nature of
sustainable agriculture implies that extension must make use of farmers'
knowledge and work together with farmers in order to make impact. Indigenous
technology development practices and farmer experimentation are important for
ensuring sustainability.
