Case Study

iDevice icon Case Study 2 - Quality control, Buying and Selling

In this video we illustrate the different ways of determining quality (e.g. weight/volume, moisture content, other quality attributes) and how buyers and sellers at different stages of the maize market transact their business. Some of these market players include: farmers, NCPB, traders, posho millers in surplus and areas.

From the above case studies and your own experience describe how market stakeholders determine quality of their commodity and how they arrive at their buying and selling decisions. Then explain in your opinion what the shortfalls are and suggest possible measures for improvement.
