The aim of the African Teacher Education OER Network (ATEN) was about encouraging understanding, use, and sharing of Open Educational Resources (OER) to support teacher education and development in Africa. The Network was a loosely connected group of teacher educators – with participants from Botswana, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Nigeria, South Africa, Swaziland, Tanzania, Togo, Uganda, Zambia, UK and USA.
